Tech Tip: Venmo Text Scam
Thousands+ being scammed by Venmo.
This is a different motivational Monday because I am trying to protect you. This is something that is happening all over and more recently Venmo was apart the latest scam.
This is a spam and phishing attack, people are getting an email or TEXT saying that their account will be charged unless you click on the link and log in to view the changes. They are causing an emotion of fear and urgency by pushing you to click their link and log in. The page will LOOK like Venmo but won’t be Venmo.
You have to ask yourself is this a normal action for this company and what are they trying to get me to do? If it isn’t like the app or company or even if it is DON’T do it. Go to the actual app or website and talk to someone from their customer support.
Don’t ever update your credit card information thru a link!

Password Managers
LastPass: I have 340+ Different Passwords and that is ALL because I use LastPass, and why you should
LastPass: I have 340 DIFFERENT passwords. How many do you have?
Yep I said THREE HUNDRED AND FORTY "DIFFERENT" Passwords.
I let @LastPass create them for me and I am able to manage ALL of those passwords for me.
Everyone wants you to set up a username and password and you usually use one of these three or four passwords because it is easy to remember BUT you need to have a DIFFERENT, yes I said DIFFERENT password for each account made because of data breaches.
In this video I show you how easy it is to install LastPass
Start by downloading it here
http://LastPass.wo8g.net/c/1344985/506709/8692
I have been a user longer than an affiliate but I am an affiliate so click on this link to help support this page to install LastPass.
There are two version of LastPass a free which is great but there is also a paid version that is only $3/month, the biggest feature the paid version is that you are able to access it on mobile. And they also have a family account where you can have 6 users and share and store passwords between members.
The best thing about LastPass is I can forget my passwords and worry about important information like my anniversary date.
Wasn’t that easy? Now I just have to remember 1 password, it needs to be long at least 16 characters.
I split up these videos to help break up the introduction and installation and LastPass features for easier for users.

LastPass is a free service, they do have upgraded plans that I talked about in the last video https://youtu.be/_2Nudf0opNw
where I introduce LastPass and tell you more about it.
I will talk about setting up a “Master Password” (insert epic voice). I want to help you set up MORE than 12 characters long. And make sure you get the full green bar strength. You want this to be something strong because it will hold ALL of your other passwords.
Next you will want to install a browser extension. It is smart and figures out which browser you are using and takes you to their extension settings.
I walk you through the easy set up for your desktop.
The next video will talk about the Vault Features check it out here:

LastPass: Features and the Vault
LastPass: Features, The Vault
For this next video I talk about the features including, the Vault from @LastPass offers.
In the vault you can add notes, addresses, credit card information, even bank information.
The options are endless. What I use it for is adding like my drivers license and important documents that you might need to be able to access out and about but in a secure way.
Sharing Center is also a very cool option, say you kids need the password to the Netflix log in, If they have LastPass you are able to send it to them without ever telling them what the actual password is.
I would recommend doing their Family Account. Its $1 more than their paid account BUT you can have a total of 6 accounts. So you add up to 5 family members to give them access. They have their OWN account where they can store their own passwords and you can choose to share or NOT share your passwords for certain accounts. This way you are giving 6 accounts of the product to family members.
I will also show you how easy it is to change your password from the vault.
Check out the next video on how to use LastPass from your mobile app.

LastPass: Mobile Set Up
LastPass: Mobile How To
Now lets take a look at the mobile app which is available on both google play and apple store.
The best part about the mobile app is EVERYTHING IS SYNCED from your desktop to mobile and back and forth.
After you install it on your desktop here
http://LastPass.wo8g.net/c/1344985/506709/8692
And get your account set up (my video on set up)
https://youtu.be/SndS8zfXjSo
Head over the the App Store of your digital device.
On the mobile you are able to access your secure notes, payment cards, bank accounts, drivers license etc.
I show you how to save and create an account for a new app and how LastPass saves and stores your information.
Another amazing thing about it is if I don’t use the app I delete it off my phone I am a big believer in that, but say I need the app again (Like Uber I delete it when I don’t use it) But when I install it again when traveling I don’t have to worry about remembering all my passwords and usernames because LastPass has it all saved for me.
